Our understanding of inclusion
Inclusion is our philosophy
As a family-owned company, we have embraced inclusion from the very beginning. With the introduction of the original Vogelnest® in 1994, we showed that playground equipment can do more than entertain – it can connect people, enable participation and remove barriers.
For us, inclusion is not about individual products. It is a mindset. Every person matters. Play is a fundamental human need and a powerful way to explore the world, develop confidence and feel a sense of belonging.
Inclusion in planning and standardisation
Designing inclusion from the start
Inclusive playgrounds are now a key element of modern urban and landscape planning. Tools such as inclusion matrices and accessibility guidelines help to evaluate play spaces in a differentiated and meaningful way.
HUCK actively contributes its expertise to standardisation committees for playground safety and inclusive design. We do not simply follow standards – we help shape them.
Advice rather than a checklist
Turning complexity into practice
Inclusive planning is complex. We make it practical. Instead of offering checklists, we provide real partnership. With flexible, modular playground equipment and open dialogue, we support planners and municipalities in turning inclusive goals into tangible play experiences.
Thinking ahead inclusively
Inclusive development – a practical example
Together with architects specialising in inclusive design, we continuously develop our existing structures. One example is the further development of the Cheops Pyramid, demonstrating that inclusion often means improving and adapting proven concepts step by step – rather than starting from scratch.
Includes modules and materials
Inclusion down to the smallest detail
Inclusive play spaces are created through thoughtful details:
- Transfer platforms for wheelchair access
- Inclusive mats for improved reachability
- Guidance and orientation systems
- Large group swings for shared play experiences
Our newly developed two-colour rope system with strong visual contrast provides added value for people with visual impairments – inclusion starts at material level.
Play value for everyone
Different paths – playing together
Our playground equipment offers challenges at different levels. Children can explore, test their limits and celebrate success in their own way. Caregivers and companions can actively participate, support or observe.
This creates inclusive play spaces for all generations.
